Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh seeks a highly skilled Financial Aid Counselor to provide students and their families with financial aid-related services. This role involves analyzing applicant financial aid information, selecting candidates, and determining awarded financial aid. The successful candidate will also assist in financial aid policy preparation and applications for government loan program federal funds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze applicant financial aid information to determine eligibility for various aid programs
  • Select candidates for financial aid awards and determine award amounts
  • Assist in the preparation of financial aid policies and procedures
  • Conduct applicant interviews and administer assigned financial aid programs
  • Provide financial aid-related services to students and their families, including counseling and education on financial management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 2 years of experience in financial aid or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Working Conditions

This is a full-time regular position with a standard work schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Some mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required. The University of Pittsburgh is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity and inclusion.
