Position Overview

The role of the Chemical Engineer involves overseeing a comprehensive multi-media sampling initiative. This includes the formulation of Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) that detail the types, quantities, and locations of samples to be collected, along with the corresponding analysis methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the multi-media sampling program and prepare essential programmatic documents such as the Quality Assurance Project Plan.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes within diverse teams of experts, particularly in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Coordinate sampling and analysis requirements among various stakeholders, including data users and quality assurance teams.
  • Lead the Data Quality Objectives (DQO) process as per U.S. Environmental Protection Agency guidelines, ensuring the appropriate data is collected for intended uses.
  • Integrate characterization data with process knowledge to create accurate tank inventories, estimating waste composition.

Additional Duties

  • Prepare and manage sampling program requirements through Quality Assurance documentation.
  • Review and reconcile characterization data to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop comprehensive chemical inventories utilizing sample data and analytical insights.
  • Generate detailed reports and documentation, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Maintain Engineering Technical Staff and Process Engineering Qualification credentials.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience ranging from seven to ten years, depending on the grade level.

Desired:

  • Experience within similar industrial environments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
