Position Overview

The role of the Chemical Engineer involves overseeing the multi-faceted sampling initiatives, which includes the formulation of Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) that detail the types, quantities, and locations of samples, along with their subsequent analysis. This position is crucial for the development of programmatic documentation such as the Quality Assurance Project Plan and related multi-media procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the sampling program requirements through Quality Assurance documentation, procedures, and evaluations.
  • Draft Sampling and Analysis Plans and Data Quality Objectives for operational activities.
  • Review and validate characterization data.
  • Generate chemical inventories of waste tanks utilizing sample data, process insights, and modeling data.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and supporting calculation documents.
  • Facilitate data uploads, review analytical data, and incorporate new or revised information.
  • Prepare reports and documentation, ensuring thorough resolution of feedback from peers.
  • Produce clear, concise, and accurate engineering documentation.
  • Review and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain Engineering Technical Staff and Process Engineering Qualification certifications.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related engineering field.
  • Significant relevant experience, with requirements varying by grade level.

Desired:

  • Experience in characterization, sampling, laboratory analysis, and inventory management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • A proven ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
