Job Title: Certified Recovery Peer Advocate

We are seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate to join our team at Bridge Back to Life Center, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide integrated peer services to patients in our clinic, including support and guidance in their recovery journey.
  • Offer services in the field as required, ensuring that patients receive the support they need in their communities.
  • Participate in grant-related workshops and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to help individuals at different stages of treatment reduce their substance use or abstain from it altogether.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary treatment team to provide client-centered care that addresses the unique needs of each individual.
  • Provide advocacy services for patients, including assistance with benefits and entitlements, food, housing, and access to community care.
  • Offer recovery education to individuals and their family members, empowering them to take control of their recovery.
  • Provide pre-crisis and crisis support services, ensuring that patients receive the support they need in times of need.
  • Participate in staff and organizational meetings as requested, contributing your insights and expertise to our team.
  • Provide referrals as necessary, connecting patients with resources and services that can support their recovery.
Requirements:
  • NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate Certification (CRPA or CRPA-P) is required.
  • Experience or a desire to work with individuals with substance use disorders is essential.
  • A positive attitude and professional demeanor are necessary for success in this role.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Medium computer knowledge, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, and electronic communications tools, is required.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
  • Highly organized and motivated, with excellent time management skills.
