About the Role

The Integrated Pest Management Technician plays a crucial role in executing the integrated pest management strategies at our cultivation facility. This position involves applying fertilizers and pesticides as dictated by the IPM program and implementing additional practices to manage plant pests and pathogens effectively. The technician will also introduce new pest control tools and capture devices to enhance pest management efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the IPM program as directed by the General Manager.
  • Assist in refining existing pest control measures to minimize plant damage and waste.
  • Monitor the health of plants within a controlled environment.
  • Conduct pest assessments in all flower rooms.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation.
  • Perform treatment applications, inoculations, and disease assessments.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all team members.
  • Set objectives and adhere to deadlines.
  • Scout for pests throughout the cultivation area.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages teamwork.
  • Engage in continuous education and professional development as necessary.
  • Collaborate respectfully with fellow team members.
  • Oversee plant intake to guarantee clone quality and health.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience with agricultural crop production equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a respiratory medical evaluation and fit test is required.
  • Possession of a Qualified Applicator License, Qualified Applicator Certificate, or the capability to obtain a Private Applicator Certificate by passing a test administered by the Agricultural Commissioner's Office.
  • A High School Diploma is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in agriculture is preferred.
  • Familiarity with agricultural practices, irrigation, and cultivation systems is essential.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is preferred.
  • Preferred: PCA certification.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Normal corrective vision range, ability to see color, and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance.
  • Ability to climb, push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, sit, stand, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
  • Normal hearing range.
