Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple fund relationships, ensuring timely delivery of all client commitments.
  • Manage client expectations and coordinate deliverable timelines with team members.
  • Exhibit extensive knowledge of accounting, particularly regarding alternative investment funds, with an emphasis on private equity.
  • Engage in new business discussions with potential and existing clients.
  • Develop and maintain goals and career advancement plans for all direct reports.
  • Conduct semiannual performance evaluations and discussions for direct reports.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on technical and client-service matters.
  • Review fund governing documents, offering documents, subscription agreements, side letters, and investment management contracts to ensure compliance with fund terms.
  • Examine all transaction documentation and supporting materials, understanding the characteristics of investment transactions, accruals, etc.
  • Assess work paper files for accuracy and completeness, including capital activity, investment activity, income and expense accruals, and valuation adjustments.
  • Evaluate management fee calculations, including offsetable amounts and management fee waiver contributions.
  • Analyze investor allocations and capital account statements.
  • Review capital call and distribution calculations, sources/uses of cash, allocations, and investor notifications.
  • Create, maintain, and/or review distribution waterfall (carried interest) models in accordance with applicable fund terms.
  • Prepare and/or review financial statements, notes disclosures, and supporting schedules.
  • Establish and maintain robust review procedures for deliverables.
  • Manage the year-end audit process in collaboration with clients and auditors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, focusing on alternative investment funds; private equity experience is advantageous.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising two or more professional staff members.
  • Responsible for hiring and termination decisions, as well as providing ongoing performance feedback to staff.
  • Hands-on management style with strong leadership abilities and a focus on staff development.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with FIS Investran is a plus.
  • A collaborative team player.
