Salary: From $85,000 - $100,000

Role Summary: The Finance Manager is responsible for directing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role encompasses oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning, contributing to the overall financial health of the company. The Finance Manager will manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow, ensuring accurate financial statements are produced on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Owner.

Authority: The Finance Manager has the authority to hire staff and engage external accounting professionals as needed to meet the company’s objectives and budgetary requirements. This role includes delegating responsibilities and ensuring accountability for performance.

Employment Status: Full Time – Salary Exempt

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the company’s brand by embodying its mission and values, fostering trust among employees, partners, and clients.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture dedicated to excellence and outstanding customer service.
  • Oversee general accounting functions, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and deadlines.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting, including pricing strategies and cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms to ensure accurate financial reconciliations and reporting.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to enhance the company’s profitability and long-term financial stability.
  • Supervise project invoicing, payments, and financial reporting to ensure alignment with budgetary expectations.
  • Enhance cash flow through effective credit and collection management.
  • Develop and maintain procurement and payment policies in collaboration with design and production teams.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage inventory policies and procedures to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for financial audits and compliance.
  • Ensure timely reporting and payment of tax liabilities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a focus on accounting; professional certification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, particularly within the construction sector.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Buildertrend and Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence diverse groups.
  • Effective conflict resolution and crisis management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and accountability, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
