POSITION SUMMARY

The Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in executing fundamental credit evaluations following established credit protocols and guidelines. This position requires the application of sound judgment, analytical thinking, and credit assessment within defined procedures, with minimal oversight.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect, investigate, and assess the credit history of new applicants, acquisition accounts, and current clients, utilizing various data sources and, when necessary, analyzing financial documents.
  • Establish suitable payment terms and identify any necessary collateral to support the proposed credit limit.
  • Prepare detailed written recommendations for assigned customer credit limits when required.
  • Promptly communicate credit limits and security requirements to relevant sales, marketing, and management personnel.
  • Engage professionally with applicants and clients to gather and/or review credit and financial information essential for the credit due diligence process.
  • Timely prepare and distribute credit activity reports to sales, marketing, and management teams, advising them on any potential recommended actions.
  • Actively participate in the execution of Credit's strategic initiatives.
  • Understand and comply with Credit's internal controls and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on accounting or finance preferred.
  • Resourceful and self-driven with the capability to troubleshoot independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of evaluating situations and making data-driven decisions based on prior experience.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with a mindset geared towards understanding.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a high-volume environment.
  • Basic capability to analyze various types of financial statements for individuals and businesses.
  • Fundamental knowledge of business legal structures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Negotiation skills are essential.
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and adapt as necessary.

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years of prior experience in credit investigation and evaluation within a high-volume credit setting.
