Job Title: Sr. Principal Aerodynamics and Stores Separation Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Aerodynamics and Stores Separation Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with expertise in aerodynamics and stores separation to lead our team in defining the future of aircraft design. As a Sr. Principal Aerodynamics and Stores Separation Engineer, you will be responsible for performing aerodynamic characterization efforts, planning and executing wind tunnel tests, and conducting aircraft separation analyses.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage tools for conceptual design and aircraft grid creation
  • Support conceptual and preliminary design efforts of aircraft and components
  • Produce analysis products that calculate aerodynamic loads on separating bodies
  • Drive and support wind tunnel, ground, and flight testing
  • Develop test methods for weapons experimental aerodynamic and performance characterization
  • Execute uncertainty analyses
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional and program-based teams
  • Represent work products in customer meetings and design reviews
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Experience partnering with a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop aircraft and subsystems
  • Experience with aerodynamic tools and techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 years professional experience related to aerodynamics of store separation
  • Experience with DOD safety board processes for store separation
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as NX and CPLM
  • Demonstrated record of working hard, strong communication skills, and being accountable
