Position Overview:

This role encompasses a multidisciplinary approach and may be filled by a Psychologist, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor at the Program Manager/Coordinator level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Psychology Program Manager and oversee the professional and administrative management of all readjustment counseling, outreach, referrals, and follow-up care coordination services provided to eligible individuals.
  • Supervise a diverse team of mental health professionals across various locations, ensuring effective outreach and service delivery.
  • Manage the Vet Center's resources and fiscal responsibilities, including budget development and monitoring.
  • Lead coordination efforts and briefings with legislative representatives and their staff.
  • Develop and implement Vet Center policies and procedures, setting staff goals and evaluating performance.
  • Provide direct readjustment counseling services, both in-person and virtually, adhering to all relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Conduct professional assessments and create specialized service plans for complex readjustment issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Telework: Available

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Completion of a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited program.
  • Possession of a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level.

Experience Requirements:
At least three years of experience as a professional psychologist, with a minimum of one year at the GS-13 grade level.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
  • Ability to manage and direct a team towards achieving program objectives.
  • Capability to analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
