Key Responsibilities:- Forecast and set goals for sales, gross, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
- Lead, motivate, and monitor the performance of pre-owned vehicle sales employees.
- Develop and administer an annual operating forecast and budget for the sales department.
- Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local regulations affecting vehicle sales.
- Direct and schedule department activities to ensure proper staffing.
- Support individual salespeople in setting and achieving monthly goals.
- Implement and monitor a prospecting and sales control process with the CRC Department.
- Work with the CRC Department to ensure consistent follow-up with vehicle customers.
- Manage vehicle inventory, analyzing sales history and local market trends to determine the best purchasing mix.
- Process salesperson commission sheets daily and monitor payroll records.
- Conduct daily and weekly sales and sales training meetings.
- Establish and enforce product-knowledge standards.
- Oversee efforts to enhance the dealership's image and customer satisfaction rating.
- Help salespeople close deals and ensure 100% T.O. of each customer to the F&I department.
- Communicate daily with other sales managers regarding units needed for inventory.
- Ensure salespeople are informed of new inventory and current advertising efforts.
- Develop and maintain outside sources for buying and selling vehicles.
- Enforce a 60-day vehicle inventory turn policy.
- Plan and control inventory display.
- Establish delivery procedures, including an introduction to the service department and scheduling of the first service appointment.
- Assist in developing advertising campaigns and promotions.
- Handle customer complaints immediately and according to dealership guidelines.
- Attend General Communication Meetings as requested.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Previous automotive sales experience.
- Professional appearance and customer-oriented attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills; well-organized and self-motivated.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing retail vehicle sales.
- Sitting: Remaining in the seated position.
- Standing: Stand for long periods of time.
- Walking: Be able to move around the facility and grounds.
- Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
- Far Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
- Depth Perception: Three-dimensional vision.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
Ability to work outside in weather and inside a climate-controlled environment.
