POSITION TITLE: FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

PROGRAM: Agency

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time (hours per week)

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTING TO: Facility Manager

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required

EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year in maintenance and facility repair

SALARY: $20.00 per hour

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of all properties managed by Pinnacle Community Services, Inc. This position may evolve into a full-time opportunity.

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possession of a valid New York State Driver's License and Registration
  • Access to a vehicle for transporting equipment across various Agency locations
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule
  • Availability for emergency situations

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in general building maintenance and repair tasks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine repairs in facilities, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical work, which may involve physical tasks such as lifting and carrying
  • Assist with and provide consultation on maintenance-related issues
  • Transport Agency equipment, furniture, and documents
  • Manage Agency donations
  • Report safety or maintenance concerns to the Facility Manager
  • Provide necessary tools for tasks when Agency equipment is unavailable
  • Address emergency repairs, including incidents like break-ins or flooding
  • Recommend contractors when necessary
  • Maintain smoke and CO2 detectors, replacing batteries and units as needed
  • Conduct general landscaping and grounds maintenance, including lawn care and leaf removal
  • Perform janitorial duties such as trash collection, window cleaning, and air conditioner installation
  • Change light bulbs as required, involving ladder work
  • Clean and maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, and polishing
  • Set up and dismantle equipment for meetings and events
  • Monitor buildings and report maintenance needs to the Supervisor
  • Occasionally clean bathrooms and offices, including vacuuming and waste disposal
  • Provide snow removal and salting for Agency properties when necessary
  • Meet regularly with the Facility Manager for supervision
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding Agency matters
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Administration

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers for various tasks
  • Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work may be required for emergency coverage
  • Travel between all PCS sites is necessary
