Your Contribution to the Team

Nesco Resource is looking for a skilled Facilities Technician to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment. Your responsibilities will encompass the installation, upkeep, repair, and assessment of various mechanical systems, utilizing your expertise and independent judgment to make informed decisions. This role also involves performing preventive maintenance on facility equipment and maintaining precise documentation of all tasks completed. Adherence to all relevant policies and safety regulations is critical while executing job responsibilities.

This position requires responding to both scheduled and emergency service requests, which may involve skills in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and more. The areas of service include various buildings and facilities, such as mechanical rooms, utility areas, kitchens, and laundry services. Exceptional customer service and professionalism are essential to effectively represent the Engineering Department to staff and visitors.



Key Responsibilities

Core Duties:

  • Execute service and repair tasks for diverse client needs, including lighting repairs, HVAC issues, plumbing fixes, minor electrical work, and maintenance of facility aesthetics.
  • Oversee television systems, including inventory management and minor repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and changing filters.
  • Inspect and repair lighting, signage, and various fixtures; install and maintain necessary items.
  • Maintain and repair mobility aids and other essential equipment as required.
  • Support compliance initiatives through preventive and corrective maintenance related to safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Repair and restore machinery and equipment within utility systems.
  • Assist skilled trades as needed.
  • Participate in snow removal and other assigned tasks.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Completion of a 2-year trade program or 5 years of experience in a mechanical or electrical field related to facility maintenance. Experience in healthcare, industrial, or manufacturing settings is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven proficiency in one or more facility trades: mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or plumbing.
  • Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through practical experience and education.
  • Ability to safely and effectively utilize hand and power tools, as well as maintenance chemicals.
  • Capability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Basic computer skills required for documentation and material ordering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Journeyman or Apprentice Licensure preferred.
  • US EPA Refrigerant Certification preferred.
