Job Description Summary

As a key member of the GE Vernova team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the company's corporate, business, or profit and loss (P&L) units. This role requires a deep understanding of key business drivers and the ability to use this knowledge to accomplish work effectively.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • P&L Analysis and Cost Support: Responsible for analyzing and supporting P&L analysis and cost management for the business cycle, including 3-year plans, budgets, and forecasts at the regional level.
  • Closing Activities: Supports closing activities related to the income statement, including journal entry posting and internal reporting required by GE Vernova.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Manages reporting and forecasting for headcount and fixed production and SG&A costs.
  • Labor Hours Vouchering: Monitors labor hours vouchering monthly and collaborates with functional leadership to ensure timely hours recording.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyzes performance and proposes action plans to improve profitability and corrective action plans as needed.
  • Cost Center Forecasts: Maintains cost center forecasts to develop government actual and forward pricing rates and supports closing and reporting to FP&A.
  • Support to Marine Segment OTR Finance Leader: Provides direct support to the Marine Segment OTR Finance leader in monthly and quarterly closing, ASC 606 revenue accounting on projects, preparation of pacing and budgets.
  • SAP ERP Administration: Administers SAP ERP to maintain government accounting systems, implement cost control procedures, and provides support over cost and methods.
  • Incurred Costs Submissions: Assists in the preparation of incurred costs submissions and contract close-out.
  • Proposal and Rate Audits: Supports the preparation of proposals and rate audits for cost-plus, T&M, and fixed-priced contracts and advises management on pricing strategy for profit maximization.
  • Liaison with Government Auditors: Supports liaison with government auditors.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Four-year degree in Business, Finance, or other relevant field.
  • Experience: 4+ years in Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Skills: Adept analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency working with SAP and MS Office applications.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Communication Skills: Proven ability to interact and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Government Cost Accounting Experience: Previous hands-on government cost accounting experience.
  • Personal and Professional Ethics: Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
  • Workload Management: Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals.
  • Process Improvement: Ability to make recommendations regarding process improvements through lean practices.
