About Us
For over three decades, the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) has been at the forefront of developing impactful initiatives that enhance the quality of care for all individuals affected by child maltreatment, neglect, and sexual violence in the region.
Currently, VIP operates as a collaborative effort between the publicly funded VIP Children's Medical Village and our non-profit entity, the VIP Community Mental Health Center, Inc. (VIP-CMHC). Our longstanding commitment to delivering exceptional mental health services is largely attributed to our dedicated and skilled workforce, whose contributions have significantly improved the lives of children, young adults, and their families.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Clinical Therapist is tasked with delivering a comprehensive range of individual and family therapy services, as well as advocacy for children, young adults, and families tailored to their unique therapeutic requirements.
This role involves diagnosing and addressing mental and emotional challenges, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral, while employing psychotherapeutic and family systems methodologies to provide effective treatment for identified mental health disorders.
The Clinical Therapist will engage with individuals and groups to foster optimal mental and emotional well-being.
Recognizing that each child learns in their own way, we appreciate that some may benefit from personalized therapy, while others thrive in group settings with peers and caregivers.
Utilizing a diverse array of evidence-based practices, our mental health professionals are expertly equipped to deliver and customize therapies that align with the distinct needs and strengths of each child and their family.
For children unable to attend sessions due to medical or transportation challenges, we offer home-based therapy, ensuring a comfortable environment for healing.
Our commitment to providing adequate mental health support for every child in distress has empowered our clinical team to achieve success in even the most challenging cases.
