Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Handling: Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, handling monetary transactions, including cash, checks, gift certificates, and food stamps.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of current product location, monitor UPC codes, and ensure proper pricing.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, neat, and properly stocked check stand, ensuring a safe and secure work area.
  • Additional Duties: May be assigned to a multi-station self-checkout lane or customer service counter as needed.
Requirements:
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including hearing and speech, to perform customer relation tasks.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand or sit for long periods, walk rapidly, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
  • Manual Dexterity: Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination to operate check stand equipment and perform tasks accurately.
  • Education and Experience: Must be 16 years of age or older, with the ability to learn and memorize a considerable amount of information, including PLU codes, product locations, and company policies.
