Job Summary

JWCH Institute is seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and Verify Encounters: Thoroughly review encounters for discrepancies and ensure accuracy to avoid submitting incorrect claims to payers.
  • Generate Verification Forms: Create and submit verification forms for each date of service on a weekly basis.
  • Manage Patient Data: Enter and retrieve patient medical data in our patient management system, updating information as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Administrators: Consult with administrators to resolve eligibility, documentation, coding, procedures, and diagnoses issues.
  • Process Payments: Post payments for various payers, run payment reports, and reconcile visits to ensure accurate contractual adjustments and write-offs.
  • Weekly Error Report: Generate a weekly encounters error report to identify and address discrepancies.
Requirements
  • Certification and Education: Possess a Billing Certificate and a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Have at least 1 year of medical billing and collection experience in a medical office setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in typing and computer skills, with experience in Medicare, Medi-cal, cross-over insurances, HMO, County, and Sliding Fee Discount billing and collection.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, work independently, and be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility: Willing to travel to multiple sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Bi-lingual Spanish and English.
  • Microsoft Excel Experience: Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
