Position Overview

The Assistant Manager of Housekeeping Operations is a vital member of the Housekeeping and Laundry Team. This individual must possess a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering a high-quality housekeeping product to ensure a seamless guest experience. Responsibilities include assisting in managing staff and overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and employee spaces meet the highest cleanliness standards while providing top-notch laundry services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations related to the Housekeeping and Laundry Department, supervising all staff in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Housekeeping/Rooms Lead.
  • Ensure ultimate comfort, cleanliness, and safety for all guests, as expected in a Four Seasons establishment.
  • Effectively schedule staff and coordinate daily work assignments.
  • Manage departmental labor to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct interviews and training for staff, holding team members accountable and administering discipline when necessary.
  • Initiate department operations, reviewing night reports and preparing daily assignments for Room Attendants.
  • Prepare daily rooms report before 9 A.M., submitting to Front Desk and noting any discrepancies.
  • Monitor daily assignments to ensure productivity and quality standards are met, providing support to staff and addressing guest needs.
  • Facilitate communication and follow-up on any issues, guest requests, or special requirements.
  • Resolve guest complaints, managing all interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever feasible.
  • Act on all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction, and well-being of hotel guests and employees.
  • Conduct daily checks for maintenance issues and submit work orders for repairs through HOTSOS, following up or escalating to the Director of Engineering as needed.
  • Inspect guest floors daily; check occupied and vacant suites; spot check occupied rooms and inspect check-out rooms; assess all VIP and Special Attention rooms.
  • Ensure quality control of linen and uniforms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
  • Conduct inspection rounds throughout the hotel, reviewing production methods and procedures, and making necessary corrections and improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2+ years of management experience in housekeeping.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred (both verbal and written).
  • Preferred experience in a luxury hotel environment in Housekeeping or equivalent with Four Seasons or another organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a motivating work environment.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Valid driving license required to operate golf carts with a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility in schedule is essential, including availability for weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evening/overnight shifts.
