The IT field support team at Tesla is the primary point of contact for employees, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting services. This role requires close collaboration with various IT staff and the user base to ensure day-to-day incidents are addressed promptly and outages related to network infrastructure are handled efficiently. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for technology and experience in a fast-paced corporate environment. The position is based in Fremont, California, with some travel to Tesla's remote sites across North America.

  • Deploy and support various endpoint systems, including desktop/laptop hardware, POS terminals, tablets, digital signage, printers, scanners, and telephony devices.
  • Respond to requests and incidents from employees daily.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability in remote environments.
  • Diagnose site network infrastructure issues and address them in advance of service disruptions.
  • Work closely with multiple IT Operations teams to resolve issues and deploy equipment into the production environment.
  • Develop project plans to deliver on time through collaboration with different teams within Tesla.
  • Some planned travel to and from remote sites across regions, with occasional short-notice travel required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience with desktop (Windows, macOS, & Linux), infrastructure, network, and software support.
  • Support experience with IPSec, SD-WAN, fiber, coaxial, and Cellular modem networks with the ability to log level 1 technical support tickets with service providers.
  • Excellent understanding of networking components and technologies, including routers, firewalls, switches, access points, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, OSI model.
  • Experience with Active Directory, JAMF, SCCM, Azure, and Windows server environments.
  • Experience in supporting Apple and Android mobile devices along with Intune MDM.
  • PowerShell or Python experience is a plus.

Expected Compensation

$29.60 - $58.80/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
