Job Summary

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Behavioral Health Technician is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary care team. This role involves facilitating skill development and providing direct care in the milieu for customer-owners in a program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and support customer-owner care that is highly interactive and participatory, allowing customer-owners to build, share, and express knowledge through open dialogue.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive treatment environment.
  • Provide supervision of customer-owners to meet State of Alaska Licensing regulations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Three (3) years of experience working in a behavioral health setting; or a combination of education and experience with major coursework and experience in Counseling, Psychology, and/or Social Sciences.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license that meets State of Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) license requirements.
  • No more than three (3) moving traffic violations or two (2) at-fault traffic accidents in the previous three (3) years.
  • Zero (0) Driving Under the Influence (DUI); Operating Under the Influence (OUI); or Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) violations in the past five (5) years.
Additional Qualifications

For the Behavioral Health Technician II role, you will need:

  • Two (2) additional years of professional and supervised social service or related work experience working in a residential behavioral health setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
