Job Summary:

Northern Light Health is seeking a skilled Milieu Therapist to join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital. As a Milieu Therapist, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining a safe, well-organized, and therapeutic environment for our pediatric patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are dedicated to providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement highly structured group programming to promote a therapeutic environment
Provide interdisciplinary support and leadership to staff, including psychiatric technicians, nursing staff, and individual treatment teams
Evaluate antecedents and functions of behaviors and construct targeted individual care plans with patients
De-escalate patients facing challenges and lead huddles on patients struggling on the unit
Collaborate with individual treatment teams and patients to create and implement individual care plans
Lead de-briefing sessions after restraints or seclusion use on the unit
Complete clinical documentation within established time frames
Attend weekly treatment team meetings and make recommendations on patient milieu needs/treatment

Requirements:

LCSW or LCPC preferred, LCSW-CC or LCPC-C required
Experience with children and adolescents' therapy is preferred
Knowledge of behavioral modification therapies preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Value relationship building and collaboration
Possess competencies in social, emotional, and behavioral assessment and management strategies such as functional behavioral assessment
