AdventHealth is enhancing our medical capabilities, innovation, and advanced technology in southern Hillsborough County through a new hospital initiative.

Your Role:

The Pharmaceutical Care Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the objectives of the department, hospital, and health system by identifying, preventing, and resolving medication-related issues to ensure patient safety, enhance satisfaction, optimize outcomes, and reduce costs. This position may involve working in both centralized and decentralized settings. Responsibilities include all functions of a licensed pharmacist, such as precise and timely medication dispensing, engaging with patients and the healthcare team, and overseeing pharmacy technicians.

Your Contributions to the Team:

- Actively engages in all pharmacist duties and adheres to established operational standards.

- Maintains expertise in pharmacy operations and provides leadership in services offered by central and satellite pharmacy areas.

- Ensures the effective use of medication automation, technology, and information systems.

- Manages medication inventories and prepares patient-specific medication doses accurately.

- Supervises pharmacy technicians and interns, prioritizing tasks, organizing workflows, and verifying the accuracy of their work.

Qualifications:

Essential Expertise and Experience:

- Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or an equivalent advanced pharmacy degree

- Valid Pharmacist License
