Key ResponsibilitiesJob Summary: The Telemetry Technologist is responsible for monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms from a central telemetry station. This role requires a solid understanding of patient care tailored to the specific age group of the patients being served.
- Monitor waveforms, identifying both normal rhythms and dysrhythmias.
- Document rhythm strips at each shift and as necessary, especially when changes occur.
- Troubleshoot and maintain telemetry transmitters and receivers.
- Communicate any abnormal rhythms or changes to the healthcare team promptly.
- Provide support and resources to the healthcare team, ensuring excellent customer service by addressing questions or concerns from patients and families.
- Maintain compliance with educational requirements and participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
- Utilize resources efficiently and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations, seeking guidance as needed.
Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience: Candidates must pass the EKG Exam. Completion of Block 1 Nursing, Technician-Patient Care, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Paramedic, or have six months of relevant experience in telemetry technology is required.
