About This Role

This position plays a vital role in supporting the Diagnostic Imaging department, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide front desk support, including greeting patients, checking them in, and managing schedules.
  • Assist with obtaining and reviewing physician orders, inputting orders for procedures, and compiling patient case information for radiologists.
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and faxes for distribution, maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
  • Run and print reports needed for daily schedules, ensuring accuracy and completion of forms, reports, and computer records.
  • Log patients into the computer system, prepare paperwork, and notify appropriate departments.
  • Prepare patients for exams by providing necessary materials and instructions, delivering paperwork to technologists, and ensuring patient records are accurate.
  • Manage the library of digital images, acting as a liaison with patient care providers and the picture archival communication system (PACS).
  • Assist users and leaders with problem-solving, develop computer skills with archive systems, and retrieve patient archived data for physicians.
  • Respond to internal and external release of information requests, releasing patient records and images in accordance with laws governing confidentiality.
  • Process subpoenas and attorney requests for images, communicating effectively under sensitive and confidential situations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months of experience in a customer service-oriented environment, scheduling, and/or front office required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card required at date of hire or within 30 days.
