Role Summary

The Surgical Oncology Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional, patient-focused care through the effective oversight of daily operations and staffing within the unit. This role involves monitoring and assessing the delivery of nursing services in alignment with established protocols, while holding team members accountable for quality and clinical outcomes that support the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation of evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Drive initiatives to minimize variations in clinical practice, improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support the achievement of both internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the maintenance of equipment in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Facilitate effective admission and discharge processes to optimize patient flow and care quality.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care to ensure comprehensive patient support across departments.
  • Assign staff with the necessary clinical competencies to meet patient care requirements.
  • Monitor nursing practices and unit operations to ensure patient and family needs are met.
  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain an outstanding patient experience.
