Research Associate I

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate I to join the Gulati Laboratory in the Center for Neural Science & Medicine.
The successful candidate will assist in general laboratory activities, including maintenance of reagents and stocking of supplies. They will also perform a variety of routine laboratory tasks and procedures, such as rodent surgeries, electrophysiological and behavioral recordings, and perfusion and histology for tissue staining.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general research objectives and laboratory procedures, as well as excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word. Prior experience in a systems neuroscience lab is highly desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain intensive research experience prior to applying to graduate school or medical school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in general laboratory activities, including maintenance of reagents and stocking of supplies.
- Perform a variety of routine laboratory tasks and procedures, including rodent surgeries, electrophysiological and behavioral recordings, and perfusion and histology for tissue staining.
- Assist with animal husbandry and maintain lab equipment and related records.
- Transport, process, and log samples, and maintain computer database with relevant clinical information.
- Perform lab maintenance duties, including glassware cleaning and sterilization, and maintain stocks of general lab materials.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience, Bioengineering, or related field.
- Understanding of general research objectives and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word.
- Prior experience in a systems neuroscience lab is highly desirable.
