About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Senior Engineer to join our team at Verdantas. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing complex environmental and engineering projects throughout the Northeast, particularly in our Real Estate, Government, Energy, Industrial, and Power Markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and leadership to project teams, ensuring effective communication, resource allocation, and supervision, and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, identifying and nurturing high-potential talent within the team, and mentoring and developing the next generation of Engineering leadership at Verdantas.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure successful project delivery, committing to people and professional development of our teams.
  • Serve as Lead Senior Engineer and primary point of contact managing strategy, technical and design work, regulatory engagement, and business development.
  • Engage as Senior in Charge on land or site plan development design and permitting, stormwater management design and permitting, erosion & sediment control design, primarily for Verdantas' Area-level clients in our Real Estate, Government, Energy, and Industrial Markets.
  • Direct meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors, providing technical leadership and guidance on best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process and quality improvements and implement best practices, leading initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, serving as primary point of contact for project-related needs, and committing to client satisfaction.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions, presenting project updates and technical information to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, communities, and environmental organizations, to facilitate project approvals and implementation, ensuring the quality and technical content of all work products, maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution; higher education preferred.
  • 20 or more years of experience in civil engineering and land development.
  • P.E. required (Delaware, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey preferred).
  • Professional project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Offshore wind energy on-land transmission project experience, including experience with USEPA, Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and state agencies (including DNREC).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
