Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technology Operations Lead to join our IT program supporting a key government customer in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.

This program delivers always-available enterprise computing engineering services with modern technology solutions for the customer workforce on-premises and via remote Cloud services.

As the mission-focused Tech Ops Lead, you will be expected to maintain situational awareness of planned and unplanned operations, act as the primary government-interfacing POC for unplanned outages, and drive operational innovation through the use of new and existing ServiceNow capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the contractor lead for the team of the customer's enterprise computing services organization, directly supporting the government lead for operations
  • Serve as the primary POC for coordinating the contractor workforce response and communication during unplanned incidents
  • Establish appropriate communication channels and deliver updates via those channels at the appropriate frequency
  • Lead matrixed and mixed teams to improve operations planning and ensure all system impacts are considered
  • May be asked to be the BAE people management leader
  • Promote an operational environment that is focused on a systems-thinking approach to project planning and event/incident management
  • Provide input to after-action reports and external reports that highlight and promote COBALT support to customer services
  • Use existing ServiceNow and JIRA queues to develop and deliver metrics that enable the operations team to adopt a continuous improvement mindset
  • Lead development of Key Process Indicators to create dashboards that proactively alert to concerns about the health of customer's IT systems
  • Create and maintain schedules, including identifying and decomposing activities, continually updating dates, assigned personnel, and dependencies
  • Identify roadblocks in the team's work and take initiative to highlight them when talking with contract leadership and the client
  • Perform Agile development activities such as daily scrums and other sprint meetings
Requirements
  • A minimum of 11 years' experience leading technical teams or in lead roles in an IT operations environment
  • Ability to synthesize IT operations and engineering updates into concise, value-added updates to senior customer leadership
  • Ability to identify gaps in operational communications and communicate appropriate questions to service teams
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to translate communications and updates from engineering cadre into comprehensive executive reporting
  • Ability to understand the mission and technical dependencies of the customer's enterprise
  • Experience working and communicating across cross-functional IT enterprise teams
  • JIRA and Confluence Expert level experience
  • Ability to lead Agile Development
Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL v.4 Cert
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an IT Management/Operations or adjacent discipline
  • ServiceNow Certification from the IT Product Line
  • Experience as a member of a corporate Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Experience with large organizations' communication and operational best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with Trellix Software
  • Experience with PAM
