Job Overview

Snak King is seeking a dedicated Food Production Team Leader to join our thriving, established organization. This is a direct hire opportunity that includes comprehensive benefits and a 401(k) plan. The Food Production Team Leader will oversee all food manufacturing operations across our production divisions, which function continuously throughout the week. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role involves supervising all personnel across various shifts. Flexibility in shift assignments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage food production processes in accordance with established operational guidelines for multiple products on a daily and weekly basis by effectively allocating resources and participating in the workflow.
  • Responsible for training and guiding staff in all aspects of the food production process.
  • Schedule personnel based on the demands of food production.
  • Ensure that equipment and supply inventories are maintained and readily available in line with production timelines.
  • Complete work orders as necessary (Sanitation and Maintenance).
  • Promote a culture of FOOD QUALITY.
  • Continuously assess product and material quality to ensure compliance with specifications and analytical standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards within the department through regular sanitation inspections.
  • Prepare daily production reports and adjust employee hours to ensure accurate payroll and labor efficiency tracking.
  • Ensure labor levels are optimized without excess staffing that could negatively impact efficiency reports.
  • Guarantee that all staff are trained and ready to fulfill their job responsibilities.
  • Create production orders and monitor weights, seals, and codes according to specifications.
  • Conduct staff training sessions and regular employee meetings. Adhere to all relevant federal and state regulations regarding employee safety.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry, [Micro] Biology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in a leadership role within the food manufacturing sector, with knowledge of GMP and/or USDA regulations.
  • Experience in writing, reviewing, and implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and thrive in a collaborative work environment.
