Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM until completion
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

The Carpentry Assistant will play a crucial role in the construction, assembly, and finishing processes of picture frames. This position offers an opportunity to learn fundamental carpentry skills related to frame production, operate various tools and equipment, and engage in manual tasks that contribute to the creation of high-quality picture frames.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Frame Assembly and Construction:
    • Assist in the precise measurement, cutting, and assembly of frame components.
    • Support the secure joining of frame corners using techniques such as miter cuts and frame joinery.
    • Help with the installation of glazing, backing materials, and hanging hardware.
  2. Tool and Equipment Operation:
    • Utilize basic hand tools and power tools essential for frame construction, including saws, clamps, and routers.
  3. Material Handling:
    • Load, unload, and organize materials such as wood, glass, and backing board.
    • Prepare materials for use by measuring, cutting, and finishing as necessary.
  4. Quality Control and Finishing:
    • Inspect frames for quality and accuracy, ensuring compliance with company standards.
    • Assist in sanding, painting, staining, or finishing frames as directed.
  5. Site Preparation and Clean-Up:
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper disposal of waste materials.
    • Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately at the end of each shift.
  6. Safety Compliance:
    • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic understanding of carpentry tools and techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to detailed instructions.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying materials.
