Job Summary

The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking an experienced Automotive Services Field Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Approved Auto Repair (AAR) department, you will be responsible for securing, maintaining, and managing business relationships with a large network of AAR facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and monitor quality repair services delivered to members, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Direct activities and staff to address member service quality issues, providing counseling and corrective measures as needed.
  • Hire, train, and lead a diverse team of automotive field specialists, smog technicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Direct, review, and approve contract matters submitted by field staff, ensuring consistency with internal policies and procedures.
  • Assure AAR facilities understand the value and benefits of the program, promoting and sustaining network loyalty.
  • Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures, addressing member complaint resolution as needed.
  • Audit staff and AAR facility performance, work completed, and documents submitted, ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures.
  • Coach, evaluate, and counsel employee performance, fostering an environment of ethical conduct, legal compliance, high employee satisfaction, and retention.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop the AAR program, ensuring AAR facilities consistently perform to standard.
  • Prepare and manage section operating budgets, analyzing reports and making presentations as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years in Automotive Services Management required.
  • 10 years' experience in the automotive repair space, with intimate knowledge of automotive diagnosis, repair quality, and cost of repairs.
  • ASE Master Certification, L1, and C1 required.
  • Knowledge of advanced vehicle systems, including Hybrid, EV, and ADAS, highly preferred.
  • Experience managing and developing strategic, large external vendor relationships or applicable B2B Account Management required.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience in successful negotiations and complex complaint resolution, including investigation, negotiation, mediation, and arbitration processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using Tablet, PC/laptop, and mobile operating systems and applications, including Microsoft Office, and Tableau.
