Position Overview:

Are you skilled in hands-on maintenance and dedicated to ensuring safety standards? At In-Shape Solutions, our Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of our facility's functionality, safety, and aesthetics. This is accomplished through both preventive and corrective maintenance of our buildings, systems, equipment, and amenities. In times of emergency, the Specialist is the first responder, collaborating closely with management and facility teams to ensure a swift resolution. This position significantly influences the experience of our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold a secure environment by effectively implementing safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to evaluate the condition of systems and equipment, performing necessary repairs promptly.
  • Collaborate daily with the management team to prioritize and align on maintenance tasks.
  • Provide insights on repair versus replacement options to management.
  • Execute repairs and maintenance on fitness equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, pools, and cosmetic elements such as drywall and paint.
  • Work with management to comply with budgetary guidelines for maintenance and repairs.
  • Order necessary parts through approved channels, keeping management informed.
  • Assist in capital improvement projects alongside the facilities team.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to track and manage work orders.
  • Adhere to safety standards and perform required checks.
  • Be available for after-hours work as needed.
  • Support emergency repair efforts for all facility systems.
  • Act as the primary contact for external service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with local ordinances and codes.
  • Contribute to a positive member experience through consistent service.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing and repairing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, with a background in trade work preferred.
  • Prior experience in health clubs, hospitality, retail, or property management is advantageous.
  • Availability for overtime and flexible scheduling is required.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and share knowledge with others.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, with proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are crucial.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
  • Travel to other locations for projects may be required; a valid driver's license and clean driving record are necessary.

Work Environment:
