Senior Director, Head of Operational Risk and Chief Auditor

Russell Investments is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Global Head of Operational Risk and Chief Auditor role. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for proactively managing operational risks, promoting resilience, and ensuring adherence to risk-related standards.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of senior risk professionals responsible for the independent operational risk management program at Russell Investments.
- Develop and implement a risk-based audit plan, leveraging your expertise to drive programs such as Vendor Risk Management, Insurance, Operational Resiliency, and governance oversight.
- Oversee the Global Management Oversight Due Diligence team, ensuring effective execution of risk frameworks within Russell Investments at the corporate and regional levels.
- Drive the risk and control culture of the organization through application of the risk management process, identifying and escalating complex risk and control issues in a timely manner.
- Navigate regulatory requirements and external expectations for programs led, partnering with senior leaders to enable risk-informed key business and strategy decisions.
- Support and challenge the First Line using influencing and negotiating skills to identify, assess, and control emerging risks prior to material P&L impact.
- Align audit activities with the organization's strategic goals, reporting audit findings to the Boards as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting; MBA, CPA, desired.
- 15+ years of experience in the finance industry, with a strong understanding of risk management frameworks and best practices.
- Proven ability to negotiate and implement change across direct areas of responsibility, including collaborating with stakeholders within and beyond the function.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to create a culture of excellence and high performance through vision and example.
