JOB SUMMARY
Accountable for overseeing the daily functions of multiple storage facilities within a specified region.
Key responsibilities encompass directing everyday operations and staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing the daily scheduling and assignments for drivers.
Additional duties include upholding all safety, regulatory, and maintenance protocols for the storage facilities and transportation equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership:
- Attract, interview, onboard, train, and retain high-performing personnel.
- Provide ongoing support, including coaching and practical training for team members.
- Foster a workplace culture that reflects PODS core values (Integrity, Customer Delight, Engagement, Accountability, Team Support).
- Effectively implement PODS performance evaluation processes.
- Timely report employee concerns to the Territory Manager and Regional HRBP; maintain continuous communication with Human Resources for all personnel management needs, incident reports, disciplinary actions, employee assessments, and personnel documentation.
- Communicate regularly with team members regarding objectives, business outcomes, areas for improvement, and key focus points.
- Ensure daily pre-shift briefings are conducted at each storage facility.
Customer Engagement:
- Oversee customer interactions to meet or surpass PODS customer satisfaction targets. This includes addressing and resolving any identified issues, direct customer communication, refining operational procedures, and implementing corrective training.
- Ensure all team members adhere to brand standards (e.g., uniforms, containers, equipment) and customer engagement protocols (e.g., prior notifications, equipment demonstrations, delivery site assessments, customer feedback collection).
Operational Excellence:
- Responsible for managing all company-owned assets within the region (vehicles, forklifts, cleaning equipment, containers, etc.).
- Supervise daily routing and performance metrics for associates. Communicate any scheduling or operational delays to Sales and Service Centers.
- Assess daily operational needs based on routing for productive days and allocate work shifts according to business demands and available hours of service.
- Coordinate repairs as directed by the Territory Manager. In case of damage at a customer location, ensure all necessary documentation and payment information are collected from the field, and facilitate access to customer containers stored at the facility.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily driver checklists, forklift inspection logs, and driver logs.
- Maintain safe, clean, organized, and functional storage facilities and staging areas within the region.
- Ensure that equipment repairs are conducted safely and promptly to meet PODS Out of Service targets.
- Perform driver duties when business needs require.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all Department of Transportation regulations, including Hours of Service rules and licensing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and local facility compliance standards.
- Ensure compliance with local zoning laws and permit requirements related to delivery and container placement. Manage relationships with local government entities.
- Ensure all deliveries comply with local regulatory standards and obtain necessary permits or authorizations as required.
- Participate in quarterly self-assessments and identify areas for improvement.
- Responsible for compliance with internal company policies (e.g., Incident Reports, Drug Screening Policy, HR policies related to safety and compliance).
Financial Oversight:
- Manage daily operations with a focus on enhancing efficiency.
- Oversee petty cash management in accordance with PODS policies.
- Ensure that refueling of equipment is conducted in a compliant and cost-effective manner.
- Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation for parts.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Willingness to travel frequently to storage facilities throughout the region.
- May be required to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Typically reports to the Territory Manager.
- Job
is directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma required; college degree preferred or a minimum of 3 years of prior management experience.
- Ability to apply for and successfully obtain a CDL Class B License or higher is preferred.
- Must maintain a current/valid driver license from the state in which the position is assigned.
- Must be able to obtain PODS forklift certification.
- Possession of a valid DOT medical card is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude essential for identifying equipment issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to stoop, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Vision requirements include close and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and communicate verbally.
- Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required including weekends.
Travel requirements:
Within Local Territory.
- Storage facilities are climate-controlled. Deliveries made in all weather conditions. High noise levels.
- May be subject to pre-employment criminal background checks and/or drug screenings in accordance with company policy.
