Job Overview

Cardinal Contractors Inc is seeking proficient and experienced Subterranean Pipe Installation Specialists to contribute to various projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of underground piping systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, including pipe supports and fixtures for various industrial applications.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and project regulations.
  • Follow both verbal and written directives accurately.
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Deliver quality workmanship in accordance with project specifications.
  • Account for all tools and materials at the end of each shift.
  • Read and interpret project documentation and perform work activities independently.
  • Handle the loading, transportation, and unloading of materials and tools.
Functional Duties:
  • Select appropriate sizes and types of pipes and materials based on project requirements.
  • Inspect work areas for potential obstructions and ensure structural integrity.
  • Plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts with other trades.
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes as necessary.
  • Install pipe hangers and brackets to secure piping.
  • Assemble and install various types of pipes and fittings, including metal and non-metal options.
  • Join pipes using various methods such as threading, soldering, and cementing.
  • Secure pipes to structures using brackets and clamps.
  • Install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Conduct leak tests on piping systems.
  • Weld supports to structural members as required.
  • Assist in the operation of machinery for repairs if certified.
  • Perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to respiratory protection protocols when necessary.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 1 to 4 years of relevant experience, depending on skill level.
  • Successful completion of a written pre-employment qualification test.
  • Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
  • Compliance with job site safety requirements.
  • Ability to work in compliance with safety equipment standards.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must adhere to the company's drug and alcohol policy.
  • Ability to pass physical examinations as required.
  • Capable of climbing and maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to perform tasks in confined spaces and at various heights.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
  • Must maintain a clean-shaven appearance for safety equipment use.
Work Environment:
  • Location: Industrial construction sites and fabrication facilities.
  • Potential Mobility Barriers: Uneven ground, obstructed pathways, and confined work areas.
  • Environmental Conditions: Outdoor settings with exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels.
