Role Summary

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the technological infrastructure of our operations. Reporting to the IT Service Technician Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for diagnosing, installing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on personal computers and related software. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all Gaming Commission Regulations and internal policies.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and enhance user desktops and laptops, addressing both hardware and software challenges.
  • Resolve network connectivity issues and manage cable installations or reinstalls as required.
  • Provide fundamental network administration support, including user account management and password assistance.
  • Assist in the deployment of system hardware and software upgrades and patches as necessary.
  • Engage with end users and staff, offering training and support on computer operations and related issues.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and System Administrators to ensure the smooth operation of the desktop computing environment.
  • Manage customer requests through the ticketing system until resolution.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy workspace as directed.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required by local and corporate policies.
  • Oversee replacement parts through RMA programs to ensure optimal hardware availability and minimal downtime.
  • Execute various tasks as needed by affiliated properties.
  • Commit to responsible gaming and alcohol service by reporting any concerns to management.
  • Exhibit behaviors that align with the Company’s Mission and Values, including Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion, and Dedication.
  • Promptly notify management or the Ethics Hotline of any illegal activities or ethical violations.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's Degree in a computer-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in computer hardware support and maintenance is required.
  • Equivalent technical training and certifications may be considered.
  • A+ certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Experience with Ghost Imaging, Iseries, and Blackberry devices is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PC and peripheral maintenance is essential.
  • Technical proficiency in XP/2003/Windows7/2008 environments (Installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting) is required.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and current protocols such as TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, and DNS is necessary.
  • At least two years of experience troubleshooting Office 2003/2007 software and installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network and desktop printers is required.
Work Environment:
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The work environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and can be crowded and noisy.
  • Exposure to casino-related environmental factors, including second-hand smoke and excessive noise, is possible.
  • Effective communication in English is required, specific to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
