Job Summary

Cable Wiring Specialist, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fiber Optic Cable Technician to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic cables, ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fiber Optic Cable Installation: Install and prepare fiber optic cables, including ribbon cable, for use in telecommunications networks.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Perform bi-directional OTDR testing, power meter testing, and collect and interpret engineering documentation to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites, and perform flagging duties as needed to ensure safe coordination of vehicles and equipment.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and external partners, and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective collaboration and problem-solving.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or recognized equivalent required; prior technical or field experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to comprehend prints, lift and move up to 50 pounds, and work in confined spaces; strong PC skills and SCTE certification a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
