Job Overview

Rome Memorial Hospital is looking for a Finance Manager to join our team, reporting directly to the Controller. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting for our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts dedicated to financial reporting and analysis for the hospital.
  • Oversee the compilation and reconciliation of data necessary for the preparation of the New York State Institutional Cost Report and Medicare Cost Report.
  • Manage the development of financial projections and data for the hospital's Annual Budget.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of all required surveys for the hospital, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting for the Board of Directors.
  • Support the completion of the Hospital's 990 tax filing.
Position Duties:
  • Act as a member of the hospital leadership team; direct analysts to allocate resources effectively, meet deadlines, and promote team development.
  • Oversee all facets of the hospital's business intelligence reporting, including Management and Productivity Reporting.
  • Utilize hospital data to generate comprehensive reports and conduct analyses for departmental profit and loss evaluations.
  • Direct the completion of Institutional Cost Report exhibits annually.
  • Ensure timely completion of required surveys and hospital reporting, including Profit & Loss Statements and Budget revenue modeling.
  • Facilitate hospital audit requirements and perform various financial analyses.
  • Engage in additional functions as assigned by the Finance Department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in hospital finance or financial analytics/business intelligence is preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills:

A comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, cost accounting, budgeting, and reimbursement processes is essential. Candidates should possess:

  • Familiarity with office procedures and terminology.
  • An understanding of third-party reimbursement from governmental and private insurers.
  • Proficiency in financial accounting systems and database management.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, along with analytical capabilities and proficiency in spreadsheet software (Excel).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and effective leadership qualities.
