We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Physical Education and Recreation courses at Yavapai College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the Physical Education and Recreation program.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Physical Education and Recreation courses, including lecture and laboratory components, to students of varying skill levels and abilities.
- Develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments that align with the college's curriculum standards and accreditation requirements.
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students, including accommodations for students with disabilities and English language learners.
- Assess student learning through various methods, including quizzes, exams, and projects, and provide feedback to students on their progress.
- Contribute to the development of the Physical Education and Recreation program, including curriculum design, program assessment, and accreditation efforts.
- Participate in departmental and college-wide meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.
- A Master's degree or higher in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience teaching Physical Education and Recreation courses at the community college or university level.
- Experience with online learning systems, such as Canvas, and a willingness to incorporate technology into instruction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- A Ph.D. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Experience with curriculum design and development, including the creation of online courses and programs.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and procedures, including those related to the Higher Learning Commission.
- Experience with assessment and evaluation methods, including the use of rubrics and other assessment tools.
