Recreational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our team at Polara Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic recreation programs and activities that promote the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of our patients.

• Plan and develop therapeutic recreation programs that meet the diverse needs and interests of our patients.
• Conduct individual and group assessments to identify patient needs and establish appropriate recreational goals.
• Implement evidence-based therapy interventions in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
• Order and maintain supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional environment for patients.
• Facilitate programs and activities that promote socialization, relaxation, and stress reduction.
• Document patient progress and program evaluations in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.

• Associate's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a psychiatric setting, assisting with recreation activities for physically, mentally, or socially disabled patients.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to be creative and flexible with groups.
• Comfortable facilitating groups of 2-16 participants.
• Must possess a general knowledge of medical diagnoses and appropriate interventions.
