About the Deputy Town Clerk Position

The Town of Mountain Village is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to support the Town Clerk in the day-to-day operations of the Town Clerk's Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, Town Clerk, and other designated Town officials.
  • Maintain official Town records, including ordinances, resolutions, contracts, agreements, voter records, etc.
  • Assist in conducting general municipal and special elections.
  • Enter Town contracts in PaperVision Contract Management and create and distribute quarterly contract management reports.
  • Serve as an assistant to the Town Clerk on various committees.
  • Complete check requests and monitor budget expenditures.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee and other Town events.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and accurate customer service to the public.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred AND two years government administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Notary Public Commission is required.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License is required.
  • Clerks Institute (CMCA Certification) required to be completed within 3 years of hire.
  • Certified Municipal Clerk certification within 4 years of hire is desired, but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of municipal administration, records retention, record keeping, and records management.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office package, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other software.
  • Excellent knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Skilled in proofreading and editing, and interpersonal communications.
