Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Exercising managerial authority to oversee the comprehensive planning, direction, and timely execution of various programs or segments within the organization.
- Approving long-term work plans created by subordinate managers and ensuring the overall work aligns with established goals and objectives.
- Overseeing the revision of strategic plans and objectives for the programs managed.
- Managing policy changes in response to legislative updates or shifts in funding.
- Implementing organizational changes to enhance program effectiveness.
- Approving budget allocations and fund distributions within the organization.
Employment Conditions
This position is subject to a one-year probationary period and requires the completion of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report. Candidates must also pass a drug test prior to appointment and maintain a Moderate-Risk Security Clearance throughout their employment.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level in the federal service, showcasing managerial skills and technical competence. This experience should include:
- Management or leadership experience in applying techniques and principles to achieve program objectives.
- Experience in overseeing the planning and implementation of technical aspects of programs.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
Education Requirements
A college degree from an accredited institution is generally required. Applicants must provide transcripts or equivalent documentation if education is used to qualify for the position.
Additional Information
This is a non-bargaining unit position with a standard day shift. Telework options may be available, subject to eligibility requirements. Relocation expenses will not be covered.
