Job Summary

As a Senior Engineer I H&B, you will be accountable for the development and implementation of new value-creating technologies, products, and/or applications to address Business/Work group opportunities. You will champion the identification and integration of various technologies from inside and outside the organization to pursue high-value opportunities for our production asset or new products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead specific technical segments and take the initiative to assume responsibility for highly challenging technical projects achieving solutions to complex problems.
  • Work interdependently and seek increased responsibility, demonstrating consistent productivity.
  • Establish internal reputation as a SME in a specific technical field, providing technical oversight to others.
  • Identify and solve diverse and poorly-defined problems, identifying alternative approaches to address new and existing challenges.
Scientific and Engineering Methodologies

You will have demonstrated several examples of applying the scientific method or engineering design process and statistics to advance project goals. You will seek comprehensive input and utilize meaningful literature searches and market knowledge to form hypothesis and select and recommend approaches to projects.

Business, Competitor, Market and Customer Expertise and Impact
  • Actively support business strategies and needs.
  • Possess sufficient business knowledge to assess cost/benefit of work.
  • Develop, align, and drive the technical development process under consideration of customer needs, competitive activity, and business strategy.
Intellectual Property and Documentation
  • Assist leadership in the formation and execution of IP strategy.
  • Help others to write clear, concise, and timely technical reports to document significant results and completion of projects.
  • Publish or present results externally or internally.
Communication
  • Enhance projects by making presentations that integrate ideas, define issues, present alternatives, and recommend solutions.
  • Develop communication strategies and implement various communication techniques that inform and influence.
Collaborative Leadership
  • Demonstrate ability to lead projects of moderate size and scope, showing project management skills and team leadership.
  • Create new opportunities and lead others to define a program and risks for implementation of an opportunity.
IFF Culture, Ethics and EH&S
  • Act as a critical focal point within their work group in the area of EH&S.
  • Engage in safe practices.
  • Use technical insight to anticipate EH&S problems and address them.
