Business Development Representative

Melton Truck Lines is a premier provider of over-the-road flatbed transportation services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, pursuing, and developing new prospects/customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for sales, transportation, or logistics to grow their career with a reputable company like Melton Truck Lines.
Key Responsibilities:- Secure and schedule loads for dispatch with the appropriate Territory Account Manager.
- Make calls from assigned territory call list to assist in getting freight.
- Provide rates, credit, and account set-up information to customers and prospects.
- Explain freight rates and regulations regarding shipping size, weight, and handling.
- Assist Regional Sales Managers with preparing and coordinating projects, quotes, contracts, and one-time rate agreements.
- Provide immediate, accurate service to shippers and consignees.
- Promote and support a positive, team-working environment.
- Build lasting relationships with top-level customer service representatives.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A 2 or 4-year college degree in Business or a related field.
- 1 year of transportation experience beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
