MRI Imaging Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at Stony Brook University Hospital. As an MRI Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing MRI imaging exams for all ages and adhering to safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI equipment and prepare patients for procedures
  • Ensure that enough information has been obtained to make a diagnosis and assist in the management of patients
  • Present images to physicians for diagnosis
  • Intravenous therapy/contrast selection and injection
  • Prepare and enter written documentation as required by the department
  • Float to off-sites as needed
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program
  • ARRT/NYSDOH License required. MRI Certification preferred
  • BLS required
  • Certified to do contract injections
  • Specialized training in MRI Technology and cross-sectional anatomy
  • Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting, walking, lifting, pulling and/or positioning and transferring patients

Company Overview:

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references
  • Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s)
