Position Overview: The HVAC Project Manager is tasked with overseeing the planning, coordination, and budgeting of projects related to construction or maintenance. This role involves participating in the initial conceptualization of projects and managing their organization, scheduling, and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, and other Project Managers to effectively plan and direct project activities.
  • Establish project goals, policies, and performance standards while adhering to company policies and contract specifications.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and participate in strategic discussions.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for project completion.
  • Interpret project plans and contract terms for administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Prepare reports on work progress, costs, and scheduling.
  • Work alongside engineers to create shop drawings based on architectural designs.
  • Maintain communication with customers and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure projects remain within budget and meet customer specifications.
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent and other departments to secure necessary tools and materials.
  • Develop project-specific safety plans in collaboration with Safety personnel.
  • Communicate the company's safety values and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Create and manage project schedules in line with customer deadlines and milestones.
  • Identify and address any schedule variances in collaboration with the Superintendent.
  • Provide project forecasts and participate in budget meetings as required.
  • Develop project budgets based on estimates and track costs effectively.
  • Generate reports on project costs and billing.
  • Prepare and distribute Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for subcontractors.
  • Review subcontractor proposals for completeness and scope.
  • Provide necessary information to finalize subcontract agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to review subcontractor schedules.
  • Maintain open communication with clients regarding potential future projects.
  • Negotiate subcontract scope changes in accordance with customer contract requirements.
  • Conduct accurate estimates and manage divisional Work in Progress (WIP) statistics.
  • Notify office staff when bonds, permits, or certifications are needed.
  • Develop comprehensive bid packages including safety, execution, and quality plans.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as requested.
  • Complete additional assignments as needed while fostering a teamwork-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of project management or related experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards governing design and operational requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
