Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Consultant and System Specialist to join our team at Salem Health. This role is pivotal in promoting continuous improvement in patient safety through collaboration, education, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient safety projects to minimize patient harm and improve safety practices
  • Facilitate investigations of safety incidents and develop actionable plans with measurable outcomes
  • Prepare reports for leadership and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Develop and deliver educational programs to enhance staff understanding of patient safety issues
  • Generate reports to identify trends and optimize reporting systems for better data handling
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of recent acute care nursing experience or two years of experience in quality, safety, or process improvement in the healthcare setting
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Oregon required, applicable certification such as CPPS preferred
Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships across all organizational levels
  • Proficient in using standard office software and equipment for data management and Kaizen activities
