Your Role With Us:
As a Safety and Security Specialist at Salem Health, your mission will be to cultivate a safe and welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff alike.
Your duties will encompass delivering security services aimed at safeguarding the interests and assets of Salem Health against criminal acts or losses, managing parking to facilitate smooth traffic, and executing physical interventions when necessary to ensure the safety of individuals.
Core Functions:
Proactive Patrols:
Carry out proactive foot, vehicle, or bike patrols across a multi-block campus, monitor and report any suspicious activities, and conduct safety and security inspections.
Calls for Service:
Address security service requests promptly, provide escort services, assist the public, and respond to emergencies.
Investigation:
Conduct interviews, gather information for investigations, complete necessary reports, and document incidents in accordance with departmental protocols.
Incident Reporting:
Record all security incidents or service requests, finalize reports, and log shift activities into the computer system.

Background/Expertise:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Relevant experience in security, law enforcement, or military police work is advantageous.
DPSST unarmed certification is preferred or must be obtained within one (1) month of hire.
CEW certification is preferred or must be acquired within six (6) months of hire.
Basic Life Support certification is required within three (3) months of hire.
NIMS HICS 100, 200, and 700 online certificates must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
A valid driver's license must be held for a minimum of two (2) years.
