About the Job

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide administrative support and care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. This role is part of a 3-person Care Team, working alongside a Virtual RN and bedside RN to focus on meeting the needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms
  • Measures and records vital signs
  • Records patient interviews and histories
  • Provides approved patient education materials
  • Prepares patients for examinations, routine screening tests, and procedures
  • Assists providers or RNs with procedures as needed
  • Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered
  • Performs testing to meet regulatory requirements as ordered
  • Performs point of care testing as ordered
  • Performs EKGs as ordered
  • Prepares and administers medications (no IV medications) based on written provider orders
  • Changes dressings as ordered
  • Removes sutures/staples as ordered
  • Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the provider
  • Maintains a clean, well-stocked patient care area
  • Abides by all federal mandates
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and abides by all HIPAA guidelines
Requirements:
  • Graduate of School of Practical Nursing
  • Current license in good standing to practice as an LPN in the State of Ohio
  • IV certification preferred
  • One to two years previous experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Current BLS/CPR and maintain current certification
  • Demonstrates skills and abilities in clinical and administrative areas
