Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide administrative support and care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. This role will involve working as a member of a team, under the direction of a provider or Registered Nurse, to deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms
  • Measures and records vital signs
  • Records patient interview and history
  • Provides approved patient education materials upon direction of provider or RN
  • Prepares patients for examinations, routine screening tests, and procedures
  • Assists the provider or RN with procedures as needed
  • Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered
  • Performs testing to meet regulatory requirements as ordered
  • Performs point of care testing as ordered
  • Performs EKGs as ordered
  • Prepares and administers medications (no IV medications) based on written provider order
  • Changes dressings as ordered
  • Removes sutures/staples as ordered
  • Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the provider
  • Maintains a clean, well-stocked patient care area
  • Abides by all federal mandates
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and abides by all HIPAA guidelines
Requirements:
  • Graduate of School of Practical Nursing
  • Current license in good standing to practice as an practical nurse in the State of Ohio, IV certification preferred
  • One to two years previous experience preferred
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Current BLS/CPR and maintain current certification
  • Demonstrates skills and abilities in clinical and administrative areas including phlebotomy, office lab testing, patient care, injections, vitals and EKG
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and to make decisions based on established policies and procedures
  • Basic computer skills required, previous experience with EMR preferred
